Bjørk Semey is a bass player and improviser rooted in the meeting point between Nordic folk music and American jazz traditions. Originally from Sweden and Denmark and now based in Amsterdam, Bjørk blends her musical influences as she weaves groovy bass lines with Nordic harmonies to create music that flows effortlessly between traditions. Her playing is folky and fluid, with a melodic sensibility that’s at the same time earthy, clear, flowery and bright.
