SLAA op Read My World Festival 2026: Current Literary Affairs

Op vrijdag 11 september gaat Maurice Seleky in gesprek met dichter en co-curator van het festival Theoresia Rumthe. Een gesprek over poëzie en performance, de invloed van de Molukse geschiedenis op haar werk èn de rol van de Molukse diaspora op de verhalen en rituelen die in leven blijven. Dit programma is een live opname van de podcast.  

CLA is een podcast over de actualiteit door de lens van de literatuur, waarin we in gesprek gaan met schrijvers van over de hele wereld. Hoe beïnvloedt de politieke situatie in hun land hun leven en werk? Waar moeten we het écht over hebben? Urgente gesprekken over angst en hoop, woede en trots, het persoonlijke en het politieke. 

Read My World (10 – 12 september, Tolhuistuin) verwelkomt dit jaar speciale gasten uit Maluku en West-Papua. Hun werk vormt het vertrekpunt voor een programma waarin schrijvers, kunstenaars, muzikanten en denkers samenkomen rond verhalen van herinnering, verzet en solidariteit. 

Current Literary Affairs is een samenwerking tussen Stichting Literaire Activiteiten Amsterdam (SLAA) en Read My World.

On Friday, September 11, we will be in conversation with co-curator Theoresia Rumthe. The conversation will cover poetry and performance, the influence of Moluccan history on her work, and the role of the Moluccan diaspora in keeping stories and rituals alive. This program is a live recording of the podcast.   

CLA is a podcast about current events through the lens of literature, in which we engage in conversation with writers from all over the world. How do the political circumstances in their country of residence influence their life and work? What are the topics we really should be talking about? CLA brings urgent conversation about fear and hope, outrage and pride, the personal and the political.
